I think all three reasons are applicable. I've been struggling with finances and living situation that it makes relaxing and enjoying a game hard. And the doomscrolling just seems more interesting, for the social aspect. I used to be an avid gamer and now (in my 30s) rarely ever play.

Edit : to be real, investing have been less massive in term of % gains. But not a lot in $ gains. And is it really worth the extra work & stress ? I think so because what would I do else anyway right ?
