Are we really sure that this asteroid could potentially hit the earth? I thought this was a 4km wide asteroid that would pass around 660,000 kms from the earth, which makes it nearly twice the distance of moon. In astronomical terms it is very close but in reality I doubt it could be of any harm to us, we have had closer encounters than this before. But yes these objects have known to change course, hence it would be better to keep watch, but fear mongering should be avoided especially when scientists have already allayed all fears.
