I'm so sorry this happened to you. I can relate as it has happened to me as well. I have always been very fond of cats. If I ever saw a stray kitten, I would bring it home. That's how I met Leah. She was an orange kitten. Always indoors. However, once she was old enough, she wouldn't stay in. She would roam around all night then always be back in the morning.

One day, there was no sign of her. We were worried yes but hopeful she might be back. I personally checked everywhere leaving only one place behind as i thought she wouldn't be there (and i was also running late for school) but that's where she ended up. So the yard behind my house belonged to other people and my cat ventured in there and accidentally(?) ate rat poison or so we were informed. These people had even disposed of her. We only got to know about it later in the evening after much enquiring. It broke us completely. We cried so much.

And so yeah, I'm positive Barb didn't just die. Something must have happened. Only God knows what. But thinking about it isn't going to bring him back. So stay strong and take care of yourself.
