It depends on whether you have already been doing business or are starting out without any customer transactions or information. Personally, I would recommend making connections with key target customers and having conversations with them. Then, you can utilize surveys and forum research to understand the pain points of existing software. Make note of their position and role within the company. Are you starting new or do have existing customers?
