I’m from Rourkela and travel frequently to Bangalore, typically every 3 months. I always fly from Jharsuguda Airport so much that even the airline staff who issue boarding passes recognize me. Lol

If you’re traveling from Rourkela to Jharsuguda, the bus route is more convenient than the train. First, take a bus from Rourkela to Sundargarh and then another bus from Sundargarh towards the Jharsuguda airport lane. Please keep in mind that the airport is located on the outskirts of Jharsuguda, along a separate route. So specifically ask the people in Sundargarh bus stand, which lane to take for the jharsuguda airport and take the bus on that lane. The lane is very clear. N they are all aware of it.

If it’s your first time, the process might seem a bit complicated, so make sure to have extra time. Once you’ve done it a couple of times, it’ll become easier. Btw, I’m planning my next trip around the 2nd week of Feb. The bus route will be safest for women as the flight is in day time and it's a passenger bus no one will harass, also the conductor will give you a seat beside a female passenger itself. Good luck
