    You mean that system where 12 random people who couldn't figure out how to get out of jury duty decide someone's fate?

    India actually had jury trials, but ditched them after the famous Nanavati case where a jury acquitted a naval officer who murdered his wife's lover - basically because he was handsome and popular. Turns out, having justice determined by people who can be swayed by good looks and media circus isn't the best idea.

  7. What issues did you face while building some product of your own?

    Many of us in the open source community completely disagree with the sentiment that big tech controls access. They control their property, the open source world is far more diverse and faster moving.

    Totally disagree with framing the story as developers who want to work in a big tech company's ecosystem are somehow forced to do so.

    If I want to leverage the customer base of Alexa or Facebook marketplace that's me taking advantage of the enablers to grow they provide. When I choose to do that I am literally signing up for a walled garden they control.

    Otherwise the world is filled with alternatives that are free.

    Don't paint startups as helpless sycophants we absolutely are not.
