i wonder the same thing myself… i think theyre confident because theyve gone through life in a way many of us didnt. they get an education, experience love, build connections, have sex, have the motivation to accomplish life things, have a social life etc etc and this in turn develops themselves as ppl and aids in their self worth and understanding of themselves. they work these big jobs that require them to be leaders and have a big voice so they have no problem being direct and are never timid. some of them are so confident in themselves they have no problem giving death stares to those they deem not as typical as them (ugly, autistic, anyone out of the norm) and filter us out in their heads. thats what i think the stares are, its like them assessing us and placing us into their social categories.
And ill leave this here for you and I bc i think this is a good reminder: not everyone has evil intentions. It does feel like theyre judging, but they could be noticing, appreciating, or zoning out. Its best not to assume they hate you but i understand why we feel like that.
