Yeah as a north indian ( considered north india by south india ppl but not actually from north but from West coast ) north ppl don't prefer chennai . Mostly because of climate is too hot and humid, they have language problem ( although I have found. Chennai ppl to be most welcoming and accepting amongst all other states ) so ideally given choice, they won't stay here. But Tamil Nadu being one of the best states on India in terms of industries as working they are here. Given Choice they will go back for sure

City is safe to live alone as a man/woman as compared to other metro cities, but saying you are new to the town, living alone in 1bhk would not be a good choice, go for a PG/Coliving(1/2 sharing) for now for like 2-3 months, access the city and proceed with the decision.

It seems you're okay with the 810+mm seat heights. I test rode all 3 of the triumphs and really liked the scrambler. It's not for me personally because of the higher seat height, I found the Speed 400 more comfortable but if you're cool with it I'd suggest you give the Triumph Scrambler some strong consideration.

That being said no matter what people suggest on this forum it's going to come down to your personal choice. This is advice I got on this sub as well - test ride everything and take a call.
