I usually don't honk knowing there is turning point ahead, and people will slow down. However, I do honk multiple times in two rare situations:

(1). Someone ahead of me suddenly applied brakes in an overtake lane where vehicles generally travel at a speed of 80kmph. If you have issues, you can show an indicator and slow down gradually, but applying sudden brakes that too on NH/SH is extremely dangerous.

(2). Traffic light says that a person is free to go if they want to turn left. Yet maniacs stop their vehicles on very left lane blocking the road for those who want to go left.
