I can tell you name like, Abdul Sattar, Hasan Mushrif, Imtiyaz Jaleel who speak marathi mostly and connected to local people just because of their language otherwise their religion is to minimal their (except Jaleel). But still people not only voted them, their parties made them Cabinet ministers.

The truth is no one going to recognise your representation if you speak about your religion only. Minority numbers are less hence their active participation in this is also less.


You people from North needs to understand that Hindi is not very old language. Its just Hindi speaking crowd grew a lot in history and it got recognised as common language for trading later.

But for Us, not just Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarathi etc. these languages are older than Hindi. We have traditions go back ages. Our forefathers had fought and kept alive this language. Still even to unknown marathi we start speaking in Hindi only. At least we are that considerate. But when you ask us to speak Hindi arrogantly then you seem like a guy, who comes from a land whose forefathers voted so badly for ages and ruined you states coming here asking us to speak some new language and forgot our own culture for WHAT ? To make you feel comfortable ? And if you still can have pride of your language when why can’t we ? After all we always supported nation and never got a single Prime Minister.

Another, thing I will point out is Maharashtra and Gujarat are almost only 2 states where people have always chosen to vote for national parties even in their assembly elections. You might see MNS, ShivSena on the news but people here always supported and voted looking at the central parties thinking on the nation rather than just voting on the basis of a language.
50-60 years since Maharashtra is separated local parties CM have been elected only once after 1993 bomb blast which was Shivsena and again in 2019 for 2.5 years that too Shivsena.
