For example, they make gatte with tomato. Which isn't authentic as traditionally, gatte is made in Dahi curry. Milk is available throughout the year in the desert, tomatoes aren't (but they are available throughout the year in Kota or Udaipur, historically speaking)

as a result, some of my designs look very "stone age" , to put it simply, but they work.

however, bosses who also think they are engineers outright reject my designs, and opt for more complicated ones because "we are a reputable company etc etc".

more often than not, my designs are used when the others's designs fail.

despite the work put into my designs, I am seen as the "dummie" of my team.

It's your life and you should try to maximize happiness, if your contributions aren't appreciated and you're not happy just look for something else, looking is for free and there's a non-zero chance you're going to find a better place in the future. Even if you don't, the experience of looking, interviewing and experiencing different jobs will help you a lot in your career

Please post a picture if you do end up building this. I used to own a house with a very similar setup, and I wanted to solve the same problem. For me, I wanted to control the cool air flowing downstairs from the 3rd floor at night. I spent a lot of time thinking of designs and never found one that I think would've properly handle the railing issue. Though, now that I'm looking at it, your structure was a little easier than mine - I had corners where the floor was open instead of the nice conformal circle shapped opening...I could never come up with a nice way of sealing the corners behind the railing. I think you have a small enough gap that you could put some sort of bristled edge - like a larger door sweep - to seal up the railing area. Your idea is good, but the problem with it is going to be the cantilevered parts around the railing area - the whole thing is likely to sag unless you can get the profile just right to be supported. For my setup, I determined that a custom tarp-like cover with a weighted edge would be the best because it would easily cover the space and keep a tight ish seal. Wouldn't do too much for the sound though...anyways I'd love to see the build pics if you go ahead and do this.
