It's okay to be defensive on the Indian roads. You could have let him pass and all this issue would have never happened. There are tons of drivers who are in a hurry and don't follow rules. If you keep blocking everyone, your car will be in service center more than on the roads .

Anyways coming to your situation, Auto folks are daily wage workers. If you want to teach him a lesson, best option is tangle him in a couple of cases and you will see how his ego folds up. Follow through with the police complaint and ensure that he comes to station and spends a few hours there.

Heads up! Auto guy will take out victim card at the station. Don't be surprised if he shows up with his aging parents/ wife to play emotional card. If you are going to police station, I would highly recommend you to take a lawyer with you. Cops knows you mean business when you show up with a lawyer. Keep one thing in mind though, if you do not have a dashcam video, it would be your word against his.

I had a similar run in with an auto driver 5-6 years back in Thrissur city. An auto driver accused me to scratching his auto. I did not hit his auto, a stationary bike kept on the side of the road fell down and the auto driver thought the noise was me hitting his auto. Anyways long story short, he blocked my car. I had my wife, MIL and my 5 year old daughter in the cat. All of them started panicking. Our man also hurdled some abuses at me. I googled and got the police station number. All his ego fell apart at the station and he was apologizing profusely. We eventually let it go. Had I pressed charges, he would have spent atleast day in the cell.

Did they actually think there is some magic solution that Biden and Harris could have pulled off to resolve the extremely complex problems in the middle east?
