Another one bites the dust 😕

1. Basic transit atleast to exit the airport( to reach base of hill) to use other normal public transport. (I think previous buses failed due to poor awareness, odd timings, routing)
2. Better immigration staff on re-ntry(super rude even while normal checks)
3. Better food stalls in international departures (domestic seemed fine)
4. Streamlined pickup points for arrival passengers as currently it's a rat race to get on cab or personal vehicle on arrival. Always blocked by one driver who thinks it's OK to stop in the middle and hug it out with the traveller's and load the mountain of luggage at a snails pace.
5. Not a need but a good to have: A separate platform or area to watch aircraft take off and land for the aviation enthusiast.

These bus passes are issued at about 4 locations. In Mangaluru, they used to issue these passes at the terminating bus stop at State Bank but now have moved their office into the basement of a building complex right outside of the terminating bus stop grounds. It's a 2 minute walk from SB stop.

Search for "CCT Office Mangaluru" on Google Maps.

Note, you only get these for a select number of "Express" buses. Not ALL buses take these cards. If the bus does not have the CCT logo on its windshield, the conductor will not accept your card. Keep in mind that you can not use this card for routes not specified in the form you submit. If you want the pass you must specify the onboarding and offboarding points. Say between Karkala and Padubidri. The card will not work outside of this route. Think of the card as a virtual coupon storage, not a credit store like KSRTC bus passes or NammaMetro passes are.

My recommendation is to get a Chalo and work with those buses. CCT passes are dog water. The money paid for the tickets in these cards are valid for at most 45 days. If you do not use the credit within these days, you lose the money. The cards themselves are not valid permanently, with a validity period of upto 1 year. KSRTC passes are a good second choice as they have monthly validity but are not route-locked like CCT cards are.

Captain was never a main force, JJ pretty much used him to make sure the opposition vote is consolidated, great move for him as well but failed to capitalize. BJP tried to make him the face of NDA in TN, he's pretty close to Modi but his health dwindled down so bad during the 2015-16 time his campaigns were reduced to jokes, for a powerful orator this was a major issue. Imo 2G wasn't a defining factor for DMKs loss, it was powercyt, land grabbing, law n order issue in 2011 and lack of proper alliances in 2016- pretty much everyone stood alone. Bar DMDK no other parties in that MNK wanted to create an alternative, everyone (VCK, CPI CPM) were kinda forced out, had no offers from ADMK or DMK.

I remember both DMK and ADMK drew a major chunk from the DMDK party just before the 2016 elections. They lost some 7-8 MLA's jumped ship and joined ADMK a few months before the elections and the Chandrakanth episode is quite famous, he joined DMK so all these weakened Captain at the ground level. DMK or let's say the big parties have this tendency to break others to strengthen them, quite normal.

People think starting a political party is the toughest thing but no. Any tom, dick and harry could do that- all you need is a letter pad. The difficult part is maintaining your party during hardships which is rare. Even Captain with all his administrative skills struggled here, that's why Kalaignar is revered a lot as he did that during 10+ years of MGR's rule, Dr Ramadoss is another though the scale is a lot smaller but still commendable.
