I cannot wrap my head around any SEO firm or freelancer NOT tailoring their content/topic strategy based on the most basic keyword research. Nevermind $1600/mth. Lazy grifters give this industry a bad name.

Every single site you do is unique. That is the best part. You get to go on a little treasure hunt every time! It takes a couple hours to setup a proper direction, and it should be open to change based on user data.

We prefer to be reactive. It's my opinion that even a year plan with a set direction is ridiculous. SEOs need to review what's going on every month and pivot if possible. New opportunities for supportive keyword content show up all the time. Obvious failings of a current strategy are easy to see with a bit of attention and they should have been able to tell pretty quickly what their audience was looking for.

Every strategy should be approached as a 'specialist'. Each business owner or brand has its own special things that can be championed.
