My driving school asked me to pay INR 3K total for both LL and DL. I got my LL in 30 mins, had to go to the RTO and did not have to give the test. They asked me to pay INR 500 extra because I am not from Karnataka, despite having a valid Bangalore address on my passport. I fought back, said a taught the RTO a couple of things on why this kind of treatment is not good, ended up not paying the extra 500. Will update this thread once I get my DL

I had 2 wheeler license. Knew how to drive 4 wheeler but my vehicle is automatic and test should be given in manual. This is the only reason I Driving school so I can borrow there car and also I had just rent agreement as address proof which if you go directly is not entertained. Enquired 4 nearby school, everyone said 3500 for license and for address thing 500 extra. This guy agreed to that within 3500 hence opted. He asked to take classes since it long time I haven't drove manual car but I said if I fail the first test then I will take. Just went there as per his slot, drove at easiest track. Reverse parking was tested specially but no 8 nothing, passed with flying colors. I was very nervous but did not show that to inspector. Note: 7-8k is for people who are taking classes as well which they want you to but if u know basic driving you can deny because in 10 classes what is anyone supposed to learn anyway.
