If their intention is just to make small talk, I don't think you should get offended so much. But if they just wanna invade your personal space, then okay don't answer.

But here's a different perspective..when Indians visit other countries for work or travel anything, they see how social the environment is there and they try to incorporate those mannerisms, like a basic example is exchanging pleasantries with even strangers.
Why can't we be a lil more open here as well, that is only if they're just making small talk.
