I think you're still an employee just like you figured. Just because you’ve got the title of co-founder or CTO doesn’t automatically make you a partner in the traditional sense. Unless you’ve got a partnership agreement or something along those lines, it’s mostly employee terms, you know? Especially since you signed an employment agreement with a set salary. A partner usually has more sway in decision making and shares in the profits/losses directly, not just through salary. The equity you have is key too, but with it vesting over time, you’re more like an employee with bonus potential.

Watch out on that employment tax bit. I mean, if you’re considered self-employed, then you'll be paying self-employment taxes, and that's a whole other can of worms. And it ain't fun if you're not prepared. If he’s thinking about switching up how things are structured, maybe chat with a tax advisor or attorney who knows the ropes. Structuring the company one way or another can change a lot of things from a legal and tax perspective. Sounds like you need more clarity from your co-founder on what he actually wants your role to be. If it makes sense for you to take on more partner responsibilities, that could be cool, but it’s gotta be clear. This is all just me rambling based on what I’ve seen; you really need someone who can deep dive into your specific situation. Yeah, I’d say make sure you really understand what that shift could mean before making any moves. It could get complicated, y'know?

WTC final is a useless match and to win a trophy only if you win the final is even more of a joke. In my view, the team that tops the league table of the WTC cycle should get the trophy. No need for the top two teams to play a final.

Two scenarios:

Scenario A: The cycle involved away series wins for India at England, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and finally if they lose in the WTC final.

Scenario B: The cycle involved mostly home wins and drawn series at SENA for India and India win the WTC final and the trophy.

I would pick scenario A any day.
