My brother in law tried to explain to me why this was a good thing, and while some points I can justify I have worked with government data for a decade and have gone through rigorous processes to get my clearance. I understand maintaining data history, modernizing and how it can create variance if the proper steps aren’t taken, and the important of QA for data quality.

I also know there’s some shady shit in our government. But having a bunch of younglings come in to be the disrupters while elon takes the reins all while NONE of them have gone through the proper methods for clearance is bullshit.

Anyways, my hopes and thoughts with it are that this is enough of a threat that it scares the government straight so they’ll take the steps to do proper data management moving forward and have routine audits. And will have someone who is actually qualified to be in charge at each appropriate level and agency.
