What if I told you they do. There is an elite college in Hyderabad, where the companies situated in the South categorically selected South Indians?

Matter of fact, in one of their GDs, only South Indians remained and ALL of them were selected for the next round? That company was hiring for its Tamil Nadu branch, and chose one Tamil, and one Telugu.

There is a very well paying company, international company responsible for shipping and logistics. Gave a CTC of 16LPA, which is pretty good. But it is infamous for hiring primarily Kannadigas. Even this time around, they hired a proper South Indian guy, and a Marathi who has been living in Telangana his whole life, although this guy deserved it more than anyone, so I won't say it was unfair.

When you work closely with some of these big companies' HRs (I have), you will realise that they will hire people who are from around the region of their offices. Many of them do it, and its swept under the rug. Whether it is bad or good, I leave up to you and the companies.

Also, I should be honest that I have seen a similar bias by a household MNC (your home has atleast one appliance form them) based in Maharashtra, and they rejected a South guy saying you won't be able to settle in the new surroundings. The people they chose, were overwhelmingly Maharashtra guys, a South guy who had lived in Maharashtra, and another South guy whose Hindi is as good as a North guy.

I will be impaled on a pike if I tell the realities of HRs and hiring, recruitments, but as J Sai Deepak says, in this hamam, no one is clothed.

I have seen that lot of hiring activities are happening in Deutsche Bank so you can try something there apart from that it also depends if you want to switch industry all together
