Might be an unpopular opinion but people not knowing how to control their vehicle isn’t the issue in India, almost everyone becomes adept at handling their vehicle once they start driving in Indian traffic.

The problems stem from not driving in lanes, not following rules, and the way people interact with traffic in general. Poor road design is another major issue.

Even if they make the driving test more difficult, it would only ensure that people can control their vehicle, which most people naturally get good at anyway. It does not mean that they’ll follow the rules or drive in a civilised manner which is the real issue.
