Also, many cover the balconies with grills and nets thereby affecting the aesthetics of the building. Even if everyone covered their balconies similarly it wouldn’t matter, but every house is differently covered, some may not and some use it as dumping area. One of the builder in Navi Mumbai quoted this as one of the reason for not providing balconies.
