I think the issue with Indians is that we have problem with anyone who "visibly" has more money than us. I watched this whole ordeal, there are many points to be noted against Akhil Gogoi as well. When asked about financing of his chandmari property, he was mum, when asked about his involvement in APSC scam on the basis of Biplab Sarma Committee scam, he remained mum.
Also, how does he explain his 1,51,92,555 rupee assets given his "common man" attire. And mind you this is the data for 2020. I can assure this number to have gone far beyond 3 crores in the present times.
The point which I am trying to make is, just because someone dresses "poor" doesn't mean he/she is poor.
Hence, for me, the narrative being set here, seems to be biased for it was Akhil who dragged along HBS's family in the first place.
