On serious note, while boomers, GenX and early millennials had lot of issues and dealt with the cards they were handed, they at least had family stability that meant social fabric remained intact even though economic progress was slow. I wholeheartedly agree with the constant distraction wanting to know a lot of random things. It really never ends for example I ended up getting engulfed in Google maps looking at roads and highways in the middle of nowhere and for what reason......there is no reason I should realistically be doing that with my time. I believe I do this as a coping mechanism to feel I'm doing something productive but I'm just filling head with info I'll maybe only use it once ever in my life but will never need to use it as it gives me no skills or doesn't improve my life in any way.

I also do this with just my thoughts where I think of dumb scenarios in my or obsess over dumb things. I don't know exactly what you're saying but I think it's not a phone problem but it's your own mind. I think the phone can contribute to the problem and make it 10x worse as now you're not being productive at all. If it's you and your thoughts alone it's not that bad because you can evolve and become better at managing having productive thoughts, you can also meditate and calm yourself.

Apps like tiktok YouTube any forums twitter can all be abused and damage your future really badly. You can also include gaming, movies, streamers they all take away from your life. I don't know why I don't just turn off the screen and live my life instead of having toxic habits. I think in the end it has a lot to do with if your a happy person or depressed in a way. Don't have to be depression it can be any problem or thought that you don't like or are putting off.

It's very damaging and I thank you for making this because I needed this deeply. I don't want to bring my life problems onto anybody but I'm going through a lot right now. I'm 28 and this is about the first time in my life where I have no idea what I'm doing or what I want to do. It's very weird to be in this spot. But I also feel many are in my exact position or have it harder than me. Good luck to all struggling with any issues or mentally crippling problems in there life..
