I agree that he shouldn't be the only one to get the blame just like he shouldn't get all the credit for worldt20 win. That’s the dumbest lawsuit ever. I wanted to be proven wrong, but reading three different articles, I didn’t understand why Apple settled. The claim was that when the devices hear the wake up sound “Hey siri”, whatever is spoken by the user is distributed by Apple to advertisers, after stripping the user details or their apple id from the audio. Those advertiser programs allegedly transcribe the audio and serve ads to the user regarding it. So… what’s the deal here, did Apple not tell people that whatever they say to Siri can be used for data analytics and training? Obviously the “Hey siri” processing happens on device and things spoken when Siri isn’t active isn’t distributed.
Now the claim also said that Siri activated itself pretty easily without saying Hey siri due to other sounds, but that ain’t Apple’s fault. If you face this issue, just turn it off!
