I like Amol Palekar as an actor but he is a terrible director. Same for Kamal Hassan. Critically acclaimed actors sure. 

Also LMAO at Karan being a critically acclaimed director. TBH same for Aditya Chopra because after DDLJ everything is WTF (Befikre, Mohobattein for example)

SRK isn’t known for critical acclaim. He is a commercial superstar. Most of directors will be commercial. No shame in that. 

Also all these directors have worked with almost all the other stars as well. Big overlap between Salman / SRK / Aamir / Hrithik. 

ETA to get more downvotes - I think Kamal Hassan is overrated. Many times he overacts in such a self important way that is completely off putting for me. I have only seen his Hindi movies and maybe he is amazing in Tamil. In Hindi his voice modulation is Deepika level bad. I think Sridevi outshone him in Sadma. He was over the top in Chachi 420 - and while I liked the movie itself, I think Govinda would have done a better job than him. I really disliked Appu Raja as a child - something about that movie gives me the creeps. I did like him in Saagar and Ek Duje ke liye. But anyone could have done those roles.

Oh boy, Hrithik lived Ethan Mascarenhas. I don’t think he’s ever played a role with so much dedication. Every scene and every expression was just perfect. There are so many moments where his eyes do all the talking, and you can feel every emotion—anger, sorrow, happiness, pain—it’s all so powerful.
