I know someone working in tech earning an average salary and her husband works a non tech job which requires meetings with people and a bit of travel.

Her potential to earn more and still be involved with the kid is higher (nature of tech jobs) but he is sacrificing a lot of family time to climb up his ladder and she is burdened with household chores and most of kids management .

This is even during the days when she is working from home and he is on leave. He is lounging around and only playing with the kid occasionally but no real involvement. I felt awkward as “his” guest when she was balancing work,child, chores and hosting me too.
