And when the attack happened Modi was busy shooting Man vs. Wild. He heard the news and carried on, because, of course, self-promotion mattered more than national security or the lives lost.

Instead of accountability, BJP milked the attack for votes, spinning a national disaster into an election campaign. Now, the same brigade that stayed silent on real security failures is using Pulwama to justify their obsession with banning Valentine’s Day.

The real insult to our martyrs isn’t couples exchanging flowers: it’s a government that failed them, cashed in on their deaths, and continues to evade responsibility.
