1. In 2016 - my first online friend - we had become really good friends but eventually got busy with our lives. She had introduced me to one of her irl friends too.When I finally sent her a msg after a long gap - multiple msgs over a period of time and got no response, I contacted her friend. Her friend replied saying she was long gone. Didn't believe her first, but then had to. I cried for days, felt what if I stayed in touch. What if she had someone to talk to.

2. 2017 - another online friend's irl childhood friend - who had also become my good friend. His parents had shifted to Florida when he was a child - he seemed the happiest and funniest possible guy. He was supposed to visit his hometown in a few months but then soon we got the dreadful news. With his parents constantly fighting and no other irl friend close by, turns out he was really isolated and depressed after all.

3. 2020- irl incident - One of my dad's friend's brother. He was a prof at a well known university. Uncle always seemed such a positive person , students loved him, he had guided me a lot as well during my transition from school to college life. The incident was all over the local newspapers and teachers and students in my college were constantly asking me what had happened. No one had any idea tbh. We all were shocked. His students were shocked. The first time irl I witnessed that someone who seemed so....normal and okay... You never know what might be going on in their minds...

And these incidents scare me till date - what if someone I'm talking to today maybe is just planning to end their lives? It can be anyone, any age, any place, any reason. I'm a very introverted and reserved person , can't stay constantly in touch with anyone it feels overwhelming but since these incidents, I've made it a point to check in every now and then.

This is the first time I'm getting to speak/write about these and it feels like I've unburdened a heavy emotion from my mind. Apologise if this comment is too long.

West Bengal is not dead or finished.. but the way it’s going West Bengal may be dead in 10-15 years.. I am probasi bangali… now lives at Delhi, was at Pune for 3 years . Where ever I go people say we are still great at education, medical, culture etc etc. but we are lacking behind in industrialisation, farming reforms, tourism etc etc…
You all know why we are still great at some things but way behind in some reforms…
