Completely with you. With my garage,I have been asked many times why not a bigger bike, would have been lesser in upfront cost sure.
But can a single big bike do everything I want[track/tour/trails/commute] comfortably? The spares and maintenance is another big headache. Cost of living is much much cheaper with smaller bikes[40/45kmpl!], I can afford a new set of types for a couple of bikes every year. Cumulative insurance of all 4 is lesser than 1 Street Triple or Z900.
If you want to ride, nothing beats the small capacity bikes for having fun.
If you want a garage queen status symbol then a bigger bike makes sense. Take it out when the weather is good and you can enjoy the ride.

Or, be like my friend and get a Ducati X and rip it on the trails spending the cost of a new Xpulse everytime after a major incident.

However...as a beginner, you can just first start listening to the sahasranama for a few times...then start chanting along slowly by reading from a book, focusing on correct pronunciation...Keep on doing this and then you'll get accustomed and subsequently be able to say it by heart. Cheers .
