I was in a similar state for most of my working life, even though I studied in coeducational schools, with frequent transfers from city to city, and studied in a top medical college, far from home. Friendships established during those years have only been long distance type. But once in Delhi, towards later psrt of my career, I started going to watch plays and attended a lot of heritage walks and formed bonds that have never made me feel lonely, despite being avowedly single.
