You’re better off leaving it running as the on / off, and warming up / cooling down is what electronics usually don’t like.

You need to pay an extra 1500 per year for the ‘Dynamic IP.’ I also have Mach 1, but when I play certain online games, my NAT type shows as ‘Strict.’ It should be either ‘Moderate’ or ‘Open’ for games like COD, GTA Online, etc. When I asked them why my NAT type is showing this, they said I need to pay 1500 for a dynamic IP.

For my Mac Mini, I went with an external SSD to store the entire Photo library and backed up everything to an external HDD via Time Machine. Since the Mini is a desktop and I don't plan on moving it often, I had no issues with keeping various accessories attached.

Previously, I used a Windows desktop to download and backup the Photos. The drawback of that was that it was a big hassle to identify and organize the downloaded photos.

Another idea I tried but definitely did not work out was a USB storage stick that I could attach via Lightning to an iPad/iPhone. The photos did download to the stick but I ran into the same problem I had with Windows plus it could not reliably download in the background.
