    Marathi need not be dependent on state efforts. The marathi people don't want to view something that'll generate money outside MH. Film content tha works outside MH does not work inside MH. Plus there is a real deficit of good acting/story writing talent or money to grab expensive actors/writers. 
    So the movie scope and producer scope has narrowed. Movie making has become expensive and marathi just cannot afford it.

    As another Redditor suggested, you should talk to him, but do so carefully.

    Keep the option of reporting him to the administration or giving him a warning in mind.
    I had a similar experience with someone who was both my friend and a family friend. Reporting the issue to a teacher helped me a lot.

    Please make sure to inform a trusted family member about this situation.
