Maybe this is how it was supposed to turn out?
I get where you’re coming from. You’re not rejecting anything, you’re just trying to figure out what truly resonates with you. And that’s okay—spirituality isn’t about blind adherence, it’s about connection. You’ve already realized something important: peace matters more than routine. If chanting feels mechanical and reading feels like a hammer to the face, then something’s off.
Your instinct to explore Bhakti Marga’s mantra for 40 days is a good one. It’s structured, it gives you time to reflect, and it lets you see if this practice genuinely brings you closer to what you’re looking for. But here’s something to watch out for: don’t just measure success by "peaceful feelings." Real spiritual growth can be uncomfortable too. Ask yourself—do I feel more connected to God? Do I feel more clarity in my purpose? Do I feel more present in my life?
The need for a living guru also makes sense. Reading books is powerful, but without guidance, it’s easy to feel like you’re just absorbing information without transformation. If Bhakti Marga’s approach feels more alive for you, then it’s worth diving deeper. That doesn’t mean leaving behind everything you’ve learned from Srila Prabhupada—it just means you’re seeking a path that speaks to your heart, not just your mind.
I’d also suggest this: don’t be in a rush to “choose” a path right now. Instead of thinking, Is ISKCON right for me? Is Bhakti Marga right for me?—try asking, Where do I feel closest to God? That’s your real answer.
And don’t be afraid to talk to someone directly. Whether it’s a monk, a mentor, or someone from either tradition who understands both perspectives, a real conversation might help you sort through your thoughts better than just introspection alone.
At the end of these 40 days, instead of forcing a decision, just sit with what you’ve learned. If it’s real, you won’t need to force it. While it's not mandate to have a guru in Kaliyuga, like trauma, bhakti also has seperate manifestations for all.
There is no right and wrong in this case. Surrender to Your lord and ask him to guide you brother. Ask him to show the way. To lead to the path which brings you to your eternal salvation at his lotus feets. Beg and pray for guidance from him.
Keep your heart open. There is no burden of anything. Some rules are meant with great intention but are not made for all. Like boarding schools.
I will suggest you one thing more : find religion outside conventional practices.
Help others, feed others, listen to others, give time - money - food - effort - ear / hand / shoulder : whatver you can to whomever in need. Don't seek dharma and God in just rituals and mantras.
Often in the rat race of punya and jaap counts, we forget golden lines of our texts :
सर्वं ब्रह्ममयं जगत् : The entire universe is pervaded by Brahman
यथा दृश्यं तथा ब्रह्म यथा ब्रह्म तथा जगत् :
सर्वं खल्विदं ब्रह्म - तस्मै श्री ब्रह्मात्मने नमः
As is the seen, so is Brahman; as is Brahman, so is the universe. All that there is, all that surrounds me , indeed, is Brahman. To that Supreme Self, I offer my salutations."
My personal advice is this :
चित्तमेव हि संसारो योगिनां मोक्षकारणम् : The mind itself is the cause of bondage and liberation for a yogi.
Don't get too caught up in rituals and mantras if you can't do organically. You would face much more bigger guilt and may even feel bad if the same would happen to you after you started following proper physical gurues specially the ones that you know if and like and feel drawn to. Bhakti bhaav is more important than number of beads. Our texts are a testament to that.
You are on a good path by questioning things and seeking more. Keep going. Get in touch with nature, get sun daily. And try to actively be more sattvic. He is calling you, he is waiting for you. If you take one step towards him, he will take 10.
May the lords lights guide us all to peace and prosperity 🙏 sitaram 🌞 😇 🙏 🪷 ❤️ -

French leader cancels CPAC speech after Bannon's apparent Nazi salute
When people minimize what nazism is or what a sieg heil signify, I am always thinking of a reel from a 1943 documentary I saw as a student of history during my university years.
It is not the most « graphic » one but is a bit. For me it’s the most haunting one due to the sheer brutality it demonstrates.
For those who don’t don’t want see the picture, here’s the description: 1943: Retreating Nazis hang villagers on gibbets built for two on the Russian front during World War II in a scene from ‘The Battle Of Russia’.
The nazis were all about annihilation of groups they judged « undesirables ». There’s shades of grey and it’s proven by their own reports or writings. -

Wow. If even one of them gets adopted and gets a family and a good home to live in how would that hurt you ?
I don’t think i need to give any justification to people like you who find faults everywhere. Instead of encouraging a good cause just trying to demean someone. -
