Daytona 675R is arguably one of the greatest middleweight super sports ever made. It can be put in the same league as the R6.

However being in India, it’s not gonna be an easy thing to live with. While service spares are easily available, anything else is a pain to source. Even if you can, the prices are astronomical.

If you have any bike like this, you should have at least 5 lakhs disposable amount with you at all times.

One more thing other than money is, you should have the skill set to keep yourself and the bike safe . These things are very easy to lose control on if you don’t know what you’re doing. Ironically a big chunk of owners of these bikes are not fit for them.

I’ve seen a lot of clapped out Daytonas and street triples when I worked as a Triumph tech. Almost all of them were total loss. Because repairing a crashed import is possible but it’ll cost more than 75% of the value of the bike.

Just last week, a customer approached me to repair his crashed 675R. Just the parts quotation is coming up to 5.5 lakhs, 2.25 lakhs just for the ohlins forks. The dealership has given a lead time of at least 3 months just to get the spares. While I can source it within 20 days, the pricing is gonna be more than what the dealership has quoted.

Having said all this, is it worth buying one? Absolutely. If you have the money and passion for it.

Because there come very few such exceptional motorcycles in 2 or 3 decades. And you don’t know if anything like this is gonna be made again considering the way the current motorcycles are going.
