This change led to a noticeable decrease in the reported P/E ratio, as consolidated earnings typically encompass the combined profits of a parent company and its subsidiaries, resulting in higher total earnings. The PE ratio was 36 plus in Feb 2021 and we are at much higher levels currently. Nifty Index need a 50 percent drop ie to levels closer to 12000 to be at a 20x PE on standalone earnings. It is still extremely overvalued.
