Did they really think that forcing an entire generation to be prepared for school shooters wouldn’t make that generation groomed to accept that shootings are common situations where people can die for no reason. So ya a CEO was shot, but the CEO was a healthcare insurance CEO. An insurance provider that has the highest claim denial rate among all other insurance companies. And that’s if you can even withdraw, it was a nightmare trying to withdraw from their app. They wanted me to prove my identification and none of the documents I sent would work. Worked fine when I set up my bank account and spent money on the app. I was never able to withdraw so I sent everything to a different exchange and never used cdc again.

In terms of TM using more space than the source for the initial backup, I see reports of this going back as far as 2012 on a quick search. It may be a result of TM automatically assigning around 20% more drive space than the total source drive space to ensure that it can always do its timey wimey thing to some extent at least.

Could it be that TM just took your 1TB drive, added around 20%, presented that as the total backup size?

As for the 11+ day backup for less than 1TB, eeeshk. I've never tried to backup over wifi so not sure how slow it would be... But I'm sure I've airdropped between my Mac and MBP way faster than that. TBH backing up that much presumably important data over wifi sounds like the worst option, you can't cable it at all?

Did TM finish the initial already and now it's just doing the hourly backups? I've never used TM myself so I don't know what's supposed to happen when the initial backup is complete, if it tells you explicitly or just quietly completes then keeps on doing its thing.
