watched this video yesterday, a good one, and I think one major reason for traffic issues is the lack of proper town planning specifically, the absence of footpaths and walkways connecting key areas like public transport stations.

1. walkable cities reduce traffic. if people have safe, accessible walkways, they’ll naturally prefer walking short distances over driving.

2. it promotes better health. look at Europe. people walk a lot like a lot, and their cities are designed for it. result? walkable cities, healthier citizens. now, don't blame indian weather and go "india cannot be a walkable country", because look at Singapore.

now, you might argue that footpaths here are often taken over by vendors or used by two-wheelers here in India. true, but with proper surveillance and enforcement, this can be tackled, right?

on the other hand, building more flyovers or adding lanes doesn’t solve the issue. rt actually makes it worse because it encourages car use. and people think, “why take the metro? there’s a new lane, let’s just drive.” this phenomenon, called *induced demand*, ensures that traffic remains just as bad, if not worse.

Well u are forgetting Mumbai but after that surely the second-best city is hyderabad for me.
