    Just talk to Hindi speaking people at workplace, seek help. Watch movies with subtitles.

    About language, there is a big section of Punjabis (mostly Hindus) in NCR who can speak Punjabi but can't read it. Not just Punjabi Hindus, a Bengali friend of mine can speak Punjabi because he did his engineering from Punjab but can't read.

    Also there are playlists on YouTube who teach Hindi using English alphabets.

    The last resort, the orthodox way of learning any language. Start with vowels and consonants.
