PK is a sci-fi comedy drama film, directed and co-written by Rajkumar Hirani. It stars Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, with the supporting cast comprising of Saurabh Shukla, Sanjay Dutt, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Parikshit Sahni and Amardeep Jha. The film is about an alien stuck in India, who questions religious traditions while trying to find his way home.

The film was initially called Talli, which was changed to Ek Tha Talli. The makers found the title to be similar to Ek Tha Tiger, the title of another film, so it was changed to PK. Rajkumar did not like the title of the film at first, but he ultimately accepted it a few weeks into shooting.

It took 3 years for Rajkumar and co-writer Abhijat Joshi to write the film. Once it was written, it took another 5 years for its production. Both writers had initially developed a film where one person could enter anyone's mind and make them a better person, but that script was scrapped when they found their film to be too similar to Inception.

The character PK is found to be constantly eating a betelnut preparation called "paan". By the end of the film's production, Aamir had eaten about 10,000 paans. He had to eat 10-15 paans before every scene of his, so that his mouth matched the colour of what a paan addict's mouth would look like.

Aamir had came up with a number of mannerisms for PK. These include the green contact lenses, as well as how the character does not blink while talking. He learnt to speak Bhojpuri from panguage expert Shanti Bhushan.

Initially, Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor were considered for the role of Sarfaraz Yousouf, Jaggu's (portrayed by Anushka) love interest. The role ultimately went to Sushant, while Ranbir had a cameo in the film. Arshad Warsi, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi were also considered for other roles. Junaid Khan, Aamir's son, worked on set as an assistant director.

The film was the 200th release of 2014

PK received critical acclaim upon its release, with praise directed towards the plot, the direction, the performances, the message and the emotional impact of the film. Made with a budget of 122 crores, PK grossed 769 crores worldwide, becoming the highest grossing Indian film at the time in both domestic and international markets. It is currently the 13th highest grossing Indian film.

PK was the first film to break into the 700 crore club. It broke all the highest box office records that were previously established by Dhoom 3, another film starring Aamir.

YouTube as a stand alone creator is actually really like being your own production company. From branding, networking, finding interesting things to cover, actually being entertaining, directing and editing yourself. To do it full time you need a lot of traditional media skills nowadays and to Garner an audience for years on top of that and you'd still need to find your niche whilst being unique enough in your perspective that you stand out.

It's honestly probably easier to make a living as a stage or screen actor nowadays.
