Indians tend to take religion very seriously. Your parents forcing you to wear that thread is probably their way of showing they care about you. On the flip side, it could also be symptomatic of controlling behaviour on their part. I’m not well versed with the types of castes in India and why they still exist today, and therefore, I cannot point out the exact reason why your parents do so.

I’m staunchly atheistic too, and it has never been a problem. The only people who’ve given me an attitude are people who aren’t close to me; my family has always been accepting and understanding of the fact that I was once religious but renounced the entire concept in my early 20s.

My mom is super religious but doesn’t force me to partake in pujas or eat vegetarian food during holy occasions; if and when I’m home, I still partake in the festivities simply because it makes my mom happy, but I do tend to cook and bring meat into the house without any issues.

I don’t think any religion is fucked up. They all seem fucked up from an outsider’s perspective because the more radical, loud-mouthed, and hollow-brained people tend to interpret and manipulate religious scriptures to fit with and justify their hate filled worldview. These people tend to dislike atheists as well, because, based on my personal experience, they have no avenue to extort you and pull you into their ideologies.

I would contact the developer and see if there is an updated version, but don't hold out much hope for Sequoia.

Going forward, you'll probably have to keep the older Mac around (and not upgrade the OS) since it Just Works, and possibly look into Linux software as an alternative.

Just realize that cd/dvd burning has been dying a long slow death the past few years; from what I've read Apple dropped support for just about everything but the Superdrive. I still have a TSSTCorp USB3 dvd burner that works fine with Sonoma 14 for **makemkv** ripping, but haven't tried burning with it yet. Might need to pass it thru to a Linux VM or just use my Win10 laptop
