  20. Is Zoho overrated compared to other product/service-based companies? What's your take?what are some other good product-based companies where engineers (in any field) can explore meaningful work and career growth

    I interned at Zoho from college. As soon as I was done with it, I joined another startup, even through they offered me a pre placement package.

    I work in Product Management, and from that perspective, Zoho's approach to building products is not what I believe in. They're all about creating clones of market leaders while costing a fraction of the cost from paying pennies to their development teams. I absolutely hate this. I believe in developing innovative solutions as products that aren't essentially cheap alternatives to proven ones.

    Throughout my internship, I kept thinking that the product i worked on did nothing better than the competition in terms of utility (except for being 5x cheaper), and hence, I didn't believe in it. When I left, all my professors and friends were like "How can you turn down and offered from Zoho?", but, it actually turned out well for me. No company is a badge to wear on your chest, it's just an establishment that pays you for the work you do.

    Today, I work in a company building products that our clients haven't even imagined of, or though was possible. This beings me satisfaction after a good day of work, every single day.
