Cooking is basic skill which both men and women should know. Why is it always that pehli rasoi is done for women? Because traditionally women are suppose to take care of homes. This is patriarchal. People saying she or anyone who doesn’t know cooking should have refused it etc don’t realize the judgement it comes with.
It’s easier said than done.
I don’t know the person making the video but rituals like these put women on back foot without anyone even realizing.
Lot of girls get happy that oh my MIL said I will cook and you just touch it (like the man in this video). But people need to think deep. Post marriage rituals should be for both unless very specific. This is a harmless video otherwise but it does encourage women oppression on how some people will take it.
And just FYI, patriarchy is also to toxic for men as it is for women where there is a certain expectation from men. Only difference with the expectation, they do enjoy the power and freedom it comes with.
