With his meditative insight, Shukracharya realized the truth and named the demon “Krodhasur,” signifying his origin in Lord Shiva's anger. Shukracharya nurtured Krodhasur’s abilities and arranged his marriage to the beautiful ‘Preeti,’ the daughter of Shambarasura. Krodhasur led a content married life and became a father to two sons, ‘Harsh’ representing happiness and ‘Shok’ representing sorrow.

Driven by an intense desire, Krodhasur undertook a formidable ten-thousand-year penance, chanting the mantra ‘Ghrini Surya Aditya Om’ to appease Lord Surya, the Sun. Impressed by his dedication, Lord Surya bestowed upon Krodhasur invincibility, robust health, immense power, and boundless wealth.

# Reign of Krodhasur

Bolstered by his newfound powers, Krodhasur launched a triumphant campaign. His demon armies marched forward with zeal, swiftly conquering the entire earth. Numerous kings surrendered to his might, and he established his own rulers over the conquered lands. With his dominion secured over the earth, he set his sights on Amaravati, the heavenly abode of Indra. Through his relentless assault, he expelled the gods from the heavens.

# Emergence of Lord Lambodar

Following the turmoil, distressed deities turned to Lord Lambodar for help. Moved by their unwavering devotion, Lord Ganesha manifested in the form of Lambodar. After assessing the situation, He launched an attack on the demon’s capital astride His fierce mount, Mushak the mouse.

A fierce and destructive battle unfolded between Lord Lambodar and the demon armies. Swiftly, all the demons met their end under the mighty blows of Lord Lambodar’s axe. Witnessing this, King Krodhasur himself stepped onto the battlefield, wielding his celestial weapons. Despite his strenuous efforts, his weapons proved powerless against the mighty Lord riding the humble mouse.

After engaging with the demon for a while, Lord Lambodar proclaimed, “This entire universe, with its countless forms, resides within my vast stomach. Thus, the wise refer to me as ‘Lambodar,’ meaning one with a vast belly.” He further explained that the universe originates from Him, is sustained by Him, and ultimately merged back into His being. He playfully supports and nurtures the world, and all occurrences within it unfold at His behest.

He declared His impartiality towards both gods and demons, expressing His desire to witness all beings fulfilling their respective duties. He vowed not to harm anyone who adhered to their rightful roles. He offered protection to those who sought refuge in Him, urging them to avoid needless destruction.

Upon witnessing this profound revelation, Krodhasur acknowledged his errors, returned control of the earth and heavens to their rightful owners, and retreated to the netherworld, where demons reside.
