Let me give an example of what Hindi films should actually do from my opinion of course.

You know what I really love about the Korean New Wave that began in the 2000s? They took well worn genres from across the world and turned them upside down, instead of basic pastiche what they did was rooted those films to their local milieu, the deep socio-political subtext of their times and made subversive versions of classic genre films.

So the basic revenge drama becomes a rumination on the never ending hell of revenge in Vengeance Trilogy and I Saw the Devil.

The dark home invasion film becomes a satire drama on the cruel class politics of South Korea in Parasite.

The folk horror with an invading demon turns into commentary on the troubling history between Korea and the oppressive Japanese in The Wailing.


What our makers do at least the mainstream Hindi ones is regurgitate the same worn out films in new packages, sometimes interesting ones like an unexplored small town relatable milieu but ultimately most of these are just shallow recreations of what people think is the real India. People who as Kashyap put it, were born in trial rooms.

I have used DEN, Asianet, Airtel in that exact order in the span of 7 years. Airtel priority support was good (Airtel black) However, the local ground working team got sloppy over the time in my area atleast (Kakkanad). I had same issue with in two weeks. I said enough is enough and migrated everything to Jio (including my postpaid connection). Currently using Jio fiber for more than a year. I have to give it to these guys, this thing never went offline. Never went "maintenance mode". Their uptime is unbelievable. Very happy with the fiber connection. 150mbps plan 999+ tax.
