There are older societies (more than 15 years old) here which still use the metal pipings (both in house plumbing through walls, and to pump water from central storage to tanks) . Some co-operative banks are mismanaged and I’d advise against having lockers with them because of past history of Rupee bank and the pain customers had to go through to access their own assets when they went under. Better to get it at nationalized bank to reduce such risk because they are backed by GOI itself.
