sorry to say but this is reality , in maximum regions ( including mine ) , society thrives on exclusion rather than inclusion , transgenders are celebrated in mythologies as divine beings but they are marginalized in daily life. and tbh saying respect at ceremonies is merely a transactional tolerance, not true acceptance , until whole indian society dismantles the rigid frameworks of caste, gender, and purity, transgender will remain symbols of token acceptance rather than empowered citizens , problem lies in viewing them as 'different' rather than as 'equal.'
