Singh estate may never go into redevelopment until there’s a lot of factors changing the decisions. It is a great idea to move to a flat, but yeah the support system is no where like the chawls. I miss that the most. But I can assure you that you will love the transition.

The rent in our belt is near 20-26k for unfurnished 1 BHK flat in private society and 14-17k in SRA society. Private society is much better compared to the SRA one (I own one in the SRA type and have rented it out).

Lie. Got my first actual job at 28. If you can land the interview try and be vague about past experience and then nail everything else. Seem motivated and interested. Also if you're in the U.S. you need a drivers license before applying in most cities. Maybe it's different in large cities like Chicago, but wherever I've lived, I've needed a driver's license and "reliable" transportation during interviews.
