In South India, English is already significantly impacting local language, so why would people want another foreign language to do the same? In North India, both Hindi and English have contributed to this, whereas in the South, it's primarily English. Since English is already taught in every state, what is the need to learn Hindi? If English, which is widely taught, already serves as a common language, why introduce another for communication? And don’t bring up colonial history and slavery—it's not like we’ve abandoned everything left by the British or their cultural influence. For speakers of Dravidian languages, any Indo-Aryan language or even English is equally foreign.

Yeah. I got real bad advice from my parents and they weren't really helpful. It has to do with not realizing how different things are. I had to explain to my parents how people need resumes and interviews for jobs that would probably hire anyone back then.
