I don't know about imposition but knowing Hindi helped me a lot, exposed me to do and know many different things, made me some amazing friends, date some cool people. And whenever I speak to my telugu friends who don't know Hindi, their knowledge about other things and the country in general seems very limited. And they seem very unnecessarily judgemental about other parts of India. Even if it's removed from the curriculum, I'm gonna make sure my kids learn Hindi.
