Listeners are posted to News feeds for example so that they pick up new articles relevant to QDF (queries that deserve freshness)

To use Sitemaps you must have authority.

But XML sitemaps do not do the same job as HTML sitemaps - which too many CMS' systems have forgotten

HTML sitemaps help shape authority and prevent child orphan pages.
